Details on the program for the event :-

Date :- Tuesday 1st of August 2017
Time :- 20h00 Lobbies are created  CRCOZA1 = Pool A ( Host Charl ) CRCOZA2 = Pool B ( Host Mike )

If there are 16 or less racers in total for the event then we will run a single lobby ( CRCOZA1 )

Note :- The event is automated so the lobby will only appear at or around 20h00 and you will
be straight into the practice session followed by quali and then the race.
We will use "Console" as the general password to enter our lobbies. This may change if we find
people joining the lobby that should not be there. But we cross that bridge if it becomes necessary.

Open Practice :- From 20h00 for 30 minutes
Qualifying :- For 15 minutes following directly after open practice ( at around 20h30 )
Race :- 39 Laps following directly after qualifying ( 120 seconds )
Race is a standing start with the start order determined by qualifying.

NB:- During the race you may not exit to the pit by any other means than driving
down the pit lane and parking in your pit box. If you run out of fuel or get damage then you need to drive the
car back to the pit if possible or park it and retire. As harsh as it is that is racing.

During qualifying you may exit from the track to the pit in any way that you like. We can't police this at all so
unfortunately we need to allow this ( for quali only ).

Pool Allocation is as follows :-

POOL A - Room Name = CRCOZA1 Password = Console

2. hondseg_t01
3. PIKESPEED-

The ability to resolve disputes
after the fact in Assetto Corsa is hampered by the fact that the host cannot save the race and use it
for dispute resolution. On a PS4 you can save your last hours game play. If a driver has a problem with
another driver then that driver would need to provide details from his own record of the incident. Please
send a PM to the series moderators if you have any disputes. The penalty system for 'Out of Bounds' on
AC is very good so track limits are penalized in race instantly. If you are serving an in race penalty ( getting
off the throttle ) then please try to move off the driving line while doing this.

If a driver causes an incident ( late braking etc.) which causes another driver to spin then the common courtesy
rule applies. i.e. You let that driver past before you go. Ultimately we are all here to have fun ... part of being
a racing driver is to accept that unexpected things sometimes happen in a race, which are caused by other
drivers and totally out of your control. If this happens and you wish to complain then please complain to the
series moderator who will address it. ( No fighting in the lobby or on the forum please. )

PlayStation / Console Racing South Africa NEW Ownership
« on: July 25, 2017, 10:26:38 AM »
I have decided that due to work commitments and hectic time restraints ( and age ) that I am not in a position to take this fantastic forum to where
it can and should be. I am not going anywhere but will be stepping down from ownership and an Admin role in this forum.

Tyron Moore ( Driverone0one ) will be taking over ownership of "Console Racing South Africa" ( www.consoleracing.co.za ) with immediate effect.
This is awesome news for the forum going forward. We could not wish for a better leader. Congrats bud.  8)

Race is a standing start with the start order determined by qualifying.

NOTE :- Many of us ( myself included) found out the hard way that you must have enough fuel
and the correct tyres on your car when you start the race. How it works is that when the race starts it
starts with the amount of fuel and tyres as per the default in your car setup. Once you are on track you
can't change tyres or add fuel. You would need to pit. So, make sure the default fuel and tyres in your setup
is as you want to start the race.

NB:- During the race you may not exit to the pit by any other means than driving

( No fighting in the lobby or on the forum please. )

( No fighting in the lobby or on the forum please. )

Conclusion

This post will be updated by the moderators as necessary so please keep an eye on it. Any comments relating to
this event or if you have any questions then please post them on this topic.

Have fun  :P

ACGpN 2017 / Pool Qualification 13th June 2017
« on: June 11, 2017, 03:22:00 PM »
Welcome to the pool qualification round for the ACGpN Championship

The Track

The Weapon

WHY ???

You may raise an eyebrow at this car / track combo but there are various reasons for this choice.
Assetto Corsa is an Italian innovation ... so, let's kick it off with an Italian Car on an Italian Track,
much like the first round of the championship. The "Ferrari 599XX EVO" may be fast ( in fact it is
very fast), but it is easy to drive and very very good.
The only issue that drivers will struggle with is the downshift protection, which much like real cars, is a feature
in this game that we need to adapt to.
Take time to get used to it and learn to time your downshifts appropriately.
The traction control has quite a few settings, so choose one that suites you. (the higher the number the less traction control you will have)
You also have some options on tyres, so make sure you choose the fastest one.
Car is quite good with default settings and you will see that the tuning options are very limited.

The details

Please post any questions, comments or banter for this event in this topic.
Participants also please keep an eye on this topic as all information pertaining specifically to this event will be posted here.

The event will take place on Tuesday 13th of June 2017.
Time :-  Room Opens at 20h00 where there will be a 30 minute practice session followed immediately by a 1 hour qualification session.
This will be followed by a 15 lap fun race for those wishing to participate.

All that will count for this event is the time that you set in the qualification hour. This qualification time will be used to allocate the starting
Pools ( A and B ) for the championship commencing on the 20th of June 2017.

NB :- VERY IMPORTANT --> In Assetto Corsa currently you need to be in the room at the end of qualification for your time to count.
If you DC during qualification any time that you have set is void and does not count. You can join the room again and set a time. Once the race
starts ( i.e. After the qualification results page has shown ) then you may quit if you do not want to participate in the fun race.
Competitors who are unable to post a qualification time will be allocated to Pool B for the start of the championship.
There will be no restarting of the room. The process is completely automated. If you DC during practice or qualification you can rejoin the room. Remember
that any time that you have previously set will be gone , you need to post another qualification lap to qualify.

When the qualification session ends and the results page is shown then, please, as many people as possible take a photo of the page
in case the host is asleep. Or the dog has stolen the cellphone or something ... you know how it goes.

ACGpN 2017 / ACGpN Championship Main Page
« on: June 04, 2017, 09:21:29 AM »

Console Racing (CRcoza) hereby announce the “Assetto Corsa Group N” championship for 2017.

The aim of this championship is to crown the “ACGpN Champion for 2017”.
This will be done in a seven round competition .
The championship will commence on the 20th of June 2017 and will be finalized on the
1st of August. This is our first championship held on Console Racing (PS4) with Assetto Corsa.

As we all know Assetto Corsa is a game with fantastic driving physics. In the other departments
the game is a bit lacking. The purpose of this championship is to test whether we can effectively
race Assetto Corsa with the newly released private lobbies.

Patience may be required while we all learn the ins and outs of navigating the "not so friendly" menus.

We have deliberately selected cars with limited tuning ... and easy to drive ... to make this championship
as close as possible.

Please add your name to this topic if you wish to participate in this. As soon as we have an
"entry list" then we will decide whether to run one or two pools. We would like to run lobbies which are
as full as possible to give this a real test, and in so doing to see whether this great game can work for us.

Races are on"Tuesday" evenings so as not to clash with Ty's Project Cars championship. We would like as
many participants as possible so please support this series.

This post will be updated continually with more specific race settings so please keep an eye on it.
