Howzit guys

I have an idea for a south african version of gtplanet website, but more focused on sim racing games like simracingworld. Would you guys be willing to join the website and use it?

I need experience with websites and this is a great opportunity for me to add it to my CV.

If you like the idea, please leave your thoughts below and possibly a name for the site? I have SPEEDFREAKS in mind.

Looking forward hearing from everyone

I'll support it dude, but expect a lot of hard work getting it going. I've lost count of all the local sim racing forums nowadays, and none of them get tons of traffic. Just ask Boss Ron (If he doesn't squash you into the ground  ;D)
Still though, if you are committed and work hard, you might find some success

If I'm not mistaken, SARL used to be one of the most popular racing sites in the country, and it's completely dead now. http://www.sarl.co.za/

I assume it will need constant updates and entries, many members to engage discussions and an attractive layout. People need a reason to keep coming back.
If it's news and stories you're going for, then you'll have to think part web designer/ part Journalist. Your writing will need to be good, and should promote discussion. Like I say man, I'm sure there's a lot of hard work involved, but if you have the time and drive I'm sure you can make it happen

Good luck Jason, I am sure you will get plenty support in the form of interested readers. At the same time I agree with Luke, it will take plenty elbow grease with very little help, so I say think carefully so you do not become disappointed.

Hey Jason.

We had a tough time staring this forum, but with some hard work and loyal friends and racing enthusiasts we grew and did really well.
Unfortunately I could not be very active the last year and Gt5 grew a bit old and so we slowed down.

I would however support your site, should you decide to go ahead.
As Luke and Rod mentioned though, it will be tough.

Best of luck with your decision.

What are your plans for the website/forum?
Is it purely going to be for information and news/new updates?
Or are you going to host races etc. on there?
Also, what sort of games and platforms are you looking into?
