Great Idea. One can never know enough about tuning, there is so many variables. I am no expert and would normally tend to copy my tunes from Praiano or HaB-Racing. I found this link from Motor City Hami very interesting as well as helpful   http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/motor-city-tunes-gt6-corvette-stingray-c7.291066/#post-9003797  .I am sure there is plenty we can learn from the guys in our forums.  :)

Shees guys I am really battling with tuning. I went to the above post and used some of those "quick tune" settings on my cars. But the problem is with that is that I don't understand what I'm doing and why is it affecting what as I am just copying values. Where can I find a tuning guide that actually explains each section of the tuning and why what happens when you change what. ?

Trying to get the undriveable F40 tuned but everything I tune just seems to make it worse as I don't understand what I am doing  :(

Thanx Rod , will give that one a try. I also found this one yesterday that I worked through : https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gt6-tuning-guide-1-15.319562/

Two interesting things I saw working through that is that the only settings in GT6 that improved my cars handling and time was ride height , spring rate and LSD.
Everything else had no effect or made the car worse. Most interestingly , camber. Camber seems to be broken in this game. Adding camber reduced my cars cornering ability and made my lap times
slower ( the opposite of what it should do ).

Another interesting thing I learned there is that you can have different hp on the same car but have the same PP. Depending on the parts you add.
The same car can have 4 or more HP but have the same PP , depending on which performance parts you chose. Very interesting.
One should not actually just add any part to get HP up.

Also , oil change steals HP. Another PD bug that I didn't know about. Example the same car with oil change will have 2hp less on same PP than one that didn't have oil change.

It's been interesting so far. First time I am actually learning how to tune ( after 3 decades , better late than never yes  ;D )

Will tune every car from now on until I understand it well  ;)

Hi Maz, camber is broken in this game. ( reversed ) You need to set your camber to 0 always for best results ( as you have confirmed. )
This has been an issue since update 1.04 ... I don't know why PD has not fixed it yet.

Your quote above is quite correct Maz. You will find that when you alter your bhp up and down , while keeping in the PP range, your torque alters quite significantly as it also does when you do an oil change. It may steal a few bhp but it normally boosts the torque a few clicks.
Mike makes a good point about the camber, never use it, even after PD said they fixed it.
Enjoy your new hobby, it's fascinating, but be prepared for hours of experimenting. ::)
