Hi guys I would have loved to be part of the race but my 3g didn't work well enough to join. Seems I will never be able to actually take part in any races unless I find a genius to sort out my 4G to give Nat2 and not Nat3 as that makes me incompatible to join any lobbies. Well done to all the racers and big congrats to Ty for creating this series.

I posted this on another thread but copied here :-

Zayne, you are on Vodacom right well this is what you have to do ... Vodacom and MTN both have a front end firewall built into their internet APN. As long as your APN is set to internet then you will always get a NAT 3 connection. You need to apply to Vodacom for an unrestricted APN. This basically involves phoning there data support and telling them that you need an unrestricted APN for gaming. They will e-mail you an application form which you fill in and send back to them with your ID etc. It is just a formality ... no costs involved. They
will then ( within 48 hours ) activate an unrestricted APN on your number. You then change your router APN from "internet" to "unrestricted" and walla you are on NAT 2.

For anyone else reading this please note :-
Vodacom will provide an unrestricted APN for contract and pay as you go customers.
MTN will only provide an unrestricted APN for contract customers.
Cell C - I don't know ... does anyone use cell C ... lol ...
Telkom (8ta) - APN is always unrestricted.
This is also the main cause of people not being able to see each other on track. Everyone that is racing with a 3G or LTE connection must make sure that they are on NAT 2.

Hope this helps.  :D

Hi guys I got Vodacom to change the APN and I changed the setting on the router after that and still no luck with it. Still gives NAT3 so I gave the router back to be exchanged will hopefully work if I get a new one. Will keep you posted.

Did you set the router to 4g/lte only?
I noticed when mine was on "auto" it would constantly switch between  3g and lte and that would cause a dc...

with it set to lte only now it does not dc.... only on a wed night when a dgl race is on lol

didnt read your whole post but try it if you have not yet

Howzit Steel, would like to check mine. Where do you set it to 4g/lte only? On the router itself?

You need to login to the router (http://192.168.1.1)
The username and password is usually defaulted to 'admin'

Once you logged in there should be a menu for connectivity
by default it is set to auto...

I use a difderent lte router but the r212 should work similarly...

If it is the Huawei B593 LTE router, the password is usually on the back of the router... Once you go in you can change the password to something that you can remember.
